The first in the list of highest wicket-taker in Test cricket – Muttiah Muralitharan is the Sri Lankan cricket coach and former professional cricketer from Sri Lanka. He has got 800 wickets in 132 test matches with an average of 22.72. He picked his last test wicket in the final ball of his career before bidding goodbye to test cricket in 2010. He also holds the record for most 67 five-wicket haul and 22 10-wicket hauls in the longest format of the game.

2. Shane Warne-Australia

Shane Warne is an Australian Cricket commentator and former international cricketer. He is the second on the list of highest wicket-takers in Test Cricket as he grabbed a total of 708 wickets in 145 matches. He went on to take 37 five-wicket haul and ten 10-wicket haul in the test with an average of 25.41.

3. Anil Kumble-India

Anil Kumble, the former Indian cricketer, coach and commentator. He played test and ODI matches for 18 long years. Anil Kumble is third in the list of highest wicket-takers in cricket as he took 619 wickets in 132 tests with an average of 29.65. He is the only one of two bowlers to have taken all 10 wickets in test innings. Kumble has got 35 five-wicket hauls as well as eight 10-wicket match haul in his career.

The striker bowler finished his career with 563 test wickets in 124 test matches with an average of 21.64. McGrath has a five-wicket haul 29 times and a 10 wicket haul on three occasions.

6. Courtney Walsh-West Indies

Courtney Walsh is a former Jamaican cricketer who represented the West Indies from 1984 to 2001. The fast bowler is known for picking  519 wickets in 132 tests. His wicket average was 24.44 and he also managed 22 five-wicket haul and three 10-wickets hauls in the test matches.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders and also one of the greatest captains of all time. He took a total of 434 wickets in 131 tests with an average of 29.64. 10. Rangana Herath-Sri Lanka

Rangana Herath is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and former test captain for Sri Lanka. He is last and the 10th in the list of highest wicket-taker in test cricket. This legendary left-arm spinner picked up 433 wickets in 93 test matches with an average of 22.07. Herath also grabbed a five-wicket haul 34 times and 10 wickets nine times in his career.
