Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Welcome a Baby Girl.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, announced their pregnancy last August. They posted a photo in which the mom was wearing a black polka dot dress while Virat stood behind her. They wrote on their respective social media accounts, “And then we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.” Many of the celeb friends such as Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sania Mirza, Kiara Advani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Taapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza and Parineeti Chopra congratulated them.

Since then their fans have been waiting for the new one. Anushka’s pictures with the baby bump and Virat’s leave from the Indian team playing the Test against Australia were all-in-news. The picture of Anuskha performing Yoga with the help of her husband went viral.

The actress seemed extremely happy in sharing her pregnancy experiences with the public as she was quite active on Instagram. The actress posted an image of the Sindhi brunch she had on January 10. The image posted on the Instagram story thanked jayeshlk. Last week she posted a picture of her relaxing with her pet pooch. The new year post of the couple was an adorable picture of her with husband Kohli. The post read “Wishing you all bountiful of love, happiness and prosperity this new year. From us to you.”

They welcomed a baby girl on 11 January 2021. Virat tweeted: “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy, and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.” Anushka gave birth at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. Their baby is coronial as she is part of the generation conceived during the novel coronavirus. The babies born during this time are also known as Covid babies.

Virat’s brother Vikas Kohli and sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra shared their happiness with welcoming posts. Vikas Kohli referred to the baby as the angel of the house and wrote: “Happiness overboard”. Bhawna Kohli wrote in an Instagram post “So happy to be a bua of a beautiful little angel. Congratulations, proud parents Virat and Anushka,”.

When previously asked about her acting decisions after having the baby, Anushka stated that she will resume shooting after delivering her child. Her words were “I will be back to shooting again once I deliver my first child and establish a system at home that balances my child, my home and my professional life. I intend to keep working for as long as I live because acting truly makes me happy,”

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Love Story

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are one of the most looked up celebrity couples in India. The two met during a TV commercial shoot for a shampoo brand in 2013. Kohli, by then, was one of the key players in the Indian Team and.  Anushka too established her name in Bollywood. Virat or Anushka was publicly shouted from the rooftops about their relationship.

However, their relationship created speculations every time they were spotted together. There were reports that Kohli headed straight to Anushka’s home after the Indian team arrived from the South Africa tour in 2014 in Mumbai. Anushka also visited Virat during India’s tour to New Zealand in 2014.

Anushka was present for a couple of Test matches in Australia in 2014-15. The public saw one of the romantic moments of their relationship as Virat celebrated his Test hundred in Melbourne. He appreciated Anushka’s presence in the stadium by blowing a flying kiss towards her. They spotted the Indian High Commission function in Australia and the Darling Harbour in Sydney during the same tour.

Their relationship went through hard faces when social media targeted and trolled Anushka for India’s defeat or Virat’s below-par. This happened at the 2014 England tour, ICC World Cup 2015 semifinal against Australia in Sydney and the ICC World Twenty20 2016 semi-final against West Indies in Mumbai.

In 2016, Virat Kohli’s Twitter post with the caption ‘Heartbroken’ went viral. But, the break up didn’t last long. They were soon back on track. Virat always thanked Anushka for bringing the best out of him. Amidst, heavy speculations and up and downs in their life, the two announced their marriage in 2017. They got married in a traditional ceremony in Italy attended by family and close friends. The two hosted a grand reception in Mumbai before Kohli left for a gruelling South Africa tour where India played three Tests, six ODIs and three Twenty20s.

Virat Kohli and His Cricket Career

Virat Kohli started his cricket career in 2008. He played with the senior national side against India. He then played with the senior men in blue in Sri Lanka in August 2008. Virat got a chance to open the ODI series, and he played well. In 2009, he travelled to Australia for the emerging players’ tournament.  He ended the tournament with 398 runs from 7 outings. However, 20-year-old Kohli had to wait for his place in the Indian cricket team because of the established  Tendulkar and Sehwag pair.

He earned his spot in the ICC World Cup and Test Cricket in 2011. He played a crucial role in the 2011 World Cup. Kohli and Gautam Gambir pulled off a rescue effort for India which gave  MS Dhoni a base to score a 91* winning the World Cup. He became the vice-captain of the ODI team in 2012, followed by a test captaincy after Dhoni’s retirement in 2014. He became the ODI Captain in 2017 after Dhoni’s step down. 

The Royal Challengers Bangalore signed Kohli in 2008 IPL. In 2011, he became the vice-captain of the RCB team. He became the captain of the RCB team in 2013 but failed to take his team to glory. 

In 2013, he was listed as the No 1 batsman in ODI rankings. He received the Man of Tournament award at the 2014 Twenty-Twenty. He received the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Cricketer of the year 2017 and ICC Test Player of the year award 2018. The country awarded him with a Padma Shri in 2017 and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2018 for his replaceable contribution to Cricket. 

Anushka Sharma’s Career

Anushka Sharma was born as the second child to Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma on May 1, 1988, in Ayodhya. Her father is a retired colonel and her mother is a homemaker. Anushka has an elder brother Karnesh Sharma who is now a film producer. Anushka did her schooling at Army School, Bangalore and completed a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.

Anushka Sharma aspired to become a model. Anushka shifted to Mumbai to fulfil her dreams and joined Elite Model Management. The famous style consultant Prasad Bidapa was her groomer. Anushka first modelled for the designer Wendell Rodricks’s Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week in 2007. Her modelling debut at Lakme Fashion Week gave Anushka several campaigns. She worked with brands like Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio, etc. She further felt like pursuing acting. So, Anushka Sharma joined an acting school in Mumbai and started giving auditions for films. 

Anushka Sharma debuted in Bollywood with the movie ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. She played the female lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008 and Anushka was already a star. She then signed three films under the Yash Raj Films banner. Anushka Sharma acted in the movie Badmash Company and ‘Band Baaja Baaraat. The Badmash Company received mixed reviews while Band Baaja Baarat received positive reviews and became a hit.

Anushka Sharma then appeared in the movie ‘Patiala House’ alongside Akshay Kumar in 2011. The same year, Anushka Sharma played the role of a salesgirl in the movie ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ with co-star Ranveer Singh. The film received mixed reviews in the cinemas. In 2012, Anushka Sharma appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, in the movie ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. The movie made it to the third highest-grossing movie of 2012. In 2013, Anushka Sharma played a strong-headed woman in the movie ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, a political satire.

One of Anushka’s significant roles was that of a TV journalist in the Aamir Khan movie PK. The movie was the highest-grossing movie of Bollywood with a collection of 98 Million USD.  Anushka Sharma’s next movie was the 2015 Bombay Velvet, an adaptation of Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’. Anushka played the role of a jazz Singer alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar. However, the film did not do well at the box office.
